Setting Up Your ShareASale Merchant Account

 

Introduction to ShareASale

Grow your sales and web traffic by joining ShareASale’s merchant network. ShareASale is an affiliate marketing network that allows affiliate partners to advertise your products and services. In order to join, you must sign up here and pay a one-time setup fee of $550 along with a $100 minimum deposit to cover any fees any time an affiliate sells your product. Once you’re signed up, you will be able to manage your affiliate partners, generate creatives, and view your reports.

The first thing you will need to do is upload images of your logo. You must upload the Main Logo (500px by 500px), and be sure it follows ShareASale’s perimeters and dimensions. If you don’t have any editing software, you can use something like BeFunky, which is a free online image resizer tool. 

Once you’re done with that, the next step is to set up the legal agreement between you and your affiliate partners. This agreement is your contract with the affiliate partners you are working with. If you have any restrictions you would like to implement (such as AdWords bidding or use of a no-follow referral link), unique commission tiers or terms beyond the network agreement you can put it down in this document.

 

Tracking Code Information (Pixel Installation)

You will need to set the tracker on your website. Depending on which shopping cart you use, you will receive a set of instructions to follow to install the Pixel. If you need additional help, contact your web developer.

After installing the Pixel, you will need to test it. Create a purchase on your e-commerce website (the cheapest item or create a $1 test item) like a regular customer would. 

Finally you will make the one-time setup fee and payment deposit. Once you have finished this step, pat yourself on the back! You’ve just joined one of the most popular affiliate marketing networks. Now it’s time to generate creatives for your affiliate partners.

After you’ve signed up, you will need to generate creatives in order for affiliate partners to share your advertisements or links. You can choose from five different creatives: Banners, Videos, HTML, Deals and Coupons, and Text Links. We suggest creating a Text Link first, as this method is the easiest way to start.

First, click on Creatives in the top menu. Then click on Text Links in the submenu. Once you are in the Text Links page, click on Add Text Link to create a new affiliate link for your product.

Fill out all the fields in the Information box, which includes the Creative Name, Category, URL to the product or website, and be sure that the Banner is Active and the privacy is Public for All Affiliates. This will allow your approved affiliate partners to use your text link on their websites. Finally, enter your link text on the left of the Information box. This will be the text that is displayed as a link to your product. We suggest naming the text name after the product. If the text link creative is for Product A on your e-commerce website, just put in Product A in the Link Text field. 

After providing at least one Text Link creative, you can take a look at other creatives you can generate for your affiliate partners. You can create banners, coupons, and even videos to promote your products and e-commerce website. Note that you may need additional software or services to generate such creatives, but we think it’s worth it to give your affiliate partners options in marketing your brand.

 

Add OnlyCrates as an Affiliate Partner

Now that you’ve finished signing up for ShareASale and creating your first Text Link, it’s time to add your first affiliate partner.

Click on Affiliates in the top menu. Then click on Affiliate List. Look for the search field and enter in OnlyCrates. Select AFF: OnlyCrates from the drop down and click Quick Search.
