The Conundrum Box

The Conundrum Box is a monthly escape-room game you play at home, part puzzle hunt and part choose-your-own-adventure. Each box tells its own story with a satisfying ending, though some storylines continue from box to box, and along the way you meet characters drawn from literature and history. Inside you will find physical objects to manipulate, puzzles, ciphers, hints and story material, plus themed recipe and drink cards and suggested playlists to set the mood. Past games include Maui's Curse, a Polynesian-themed adventure set in Hawaii, and A Mardi Gras Mystery set in 1920s New Orleans. A game takes about one and a half to three hours. No puzzle needs an internet search or outside knowledge, although you do go online to check answers and track progress.
