A Killing Affair
A murder mystery told in five-episode seasons, one episode a month
A Killing Affair turns a murder case into something closer to a TV series you play. You join the company's fictional Criminal Investigation unit and receive one episode a month. Each season runs five episodes, and by the last one you should have everything you need to name and convict the killer. Every episode is packed with evidence, case files, interviews, secret messages, ciphers and puzzles. Your team works through them to rule out suspects and work out motive, and the story builds from month to month. Everyone starts at Season 1, Episode 1, regardless of when they subscribe. Internet access is required, because part of the game is an online experience that ties into the physical evidence. The company recommends it for ages 12 and up and says it plays best with a small group. Episodes ship from the United States, and the seller says orders placed by noon go out the same day. You can pay monthly or prepay three, six or twelve months at a lower per-episode price, and you can cancel anytime. The seller also sells complete seasons as separate purchases. It is a good pick for true-crime fans, families with teens, and friends who want a recurring game night with a storyline that carries over.
