Explore Local Box

Explore Local Box takes you on a trip to a new American city every month without leaving home. Each box collects 5 to 6 products and food items made by small businesses and local artisans in that month's featured city, so you get a taste of the place along with a reason to look it up. Every box also includes fun facts about the city and a watercolor map. Past destinations on Cratejoy include Philadelphia, Boise, Moab and the Hamptons, which shows the mix of big cities and smaller travel spots. The seller says the value of the contents always exceeds what you pay. Because everything comes from independent makers, it doubles as a way to support small businesses across the country. It suits travelers who are grounded for now, food lovers who like regional specialties, and anyone who is hard to shop for but enjoys discovering new things. The price is the same per box whether you pay monthly or prepay, and shipping is free. The first box ships within three days of purchase, and later boxes go out in the first week of the month; ordering by the 14th gets you that month's city. You can cancel whenever you like.
